Frequently Asked Questions

  • I do not take insurance but do use a sliding scale based on family size and income.

  • Email jennifer@jenniferwellscoach.com to schedule a free 30 minute session (phone or Zoom). Use this time to share details, ask questions, and learn more about how coaching may be helpful.

  • When working with a client, if they feel it could be helpful to have a partner attend one or more sessions, this is an option.

  • Everyone is different and each client comes to coaching for a variety of reasons. There is no set amount of time for coaching and there is also no obligation to continue coaching once a client, the coach, or both sense it’s time to wrap up or take a pause.

  • All invoices contain the option to pay by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal.

  • Payments are due prior to appointments. Invoices are sent out the week before sessions take place. Once monthly invoices are also an option.

  • 24 hours notice is required in order to receive a refund or credit, with the exception of an emergency or illness. If a session is missed and does not fall within the parameters above, the full session amount will be due.

  • I have very limited availability for in-person sessions (Cincinnati). I do try to recommend professionals with in-person options if possible.

  • There are several reasons why I focus on virtual sessions:

I am able to support people from anywhere in the US and schedules and time zones permitting, around the world.

I have found that individuals and families appreciate the flexibility and options virtual sessions offer in terms of scheduling.

If a client moves within or outside of the United States, they do not have to start over with another coach.

My carbon footprint is smaller when I don’t make the 40 minute roundtrip drive to my external office, and this matters to me.

  • Yes! If our schedules and time zones allow us to meet, we can continue to work together.

  • In my experience, there does not currently seem to be consensus around the best language to use when it comes to autism. Some clients prefer to say “I’m autistic” (i.e., identity-first language) while others prefer to say, “I’m on the spectrum” or “I’m a person who is on the spectrum” (i.e., person-first language). Some clients don’t want to connect to autism at all, don’t have a preference, or just received a diagnosis and aren’t sure about what they prefer. Others use the term neurodivergent but some people dislike this word. When it comes to language, I ask each client for their preference and try my best to remember it during sessions. I understand that language is powerful, personal, and can change over time.

  • For non-college students, I meet with clients once per week or bi-weekly, for 30 or 60 minutes. Some clients start off with longer or more frequent sessions and move to shorter or bi-weekly sessions after progress has been made but support is still desired.

I meet with college students weekly, once or twice per week for a total of 60 - 90 minutes. If a student is doing well and wants to see how things go with less support, we can adjust the amount as needed.

  • Although I have an advanced degree, training and professional experience in counseling, I am not currently practicing counseling. I am trained as a life coach via an ICF accredited program and this can be very helpful when managing the emotional side of executive function and communication or challenges in other areas. However, if a client is in need of a licensed therapist/counselor, I will encourage them to seek that form of support. Further, if I feel a client’s needs fall outside my scope of practice, I will discuss this with the client (or guardian, if they are under the age of 18) and support them in finding someone who can meet their needs.

  • Regular Rates

My current hourly rate for new clients is $125.

Sessions that are 30 minutes are half of the hourly rate.
